City of Bend, Oregon Chooses Imron
We are pleased to announce that an authorized
dealer has completed the first phase of the access
control replacement and expansion project for the
city government buildings in the community of Bend
Oregon, using our Imron IS2000 as the heart of the
installation.
The IS2000 system installed is a
fully integrated application including access control,
alarm management and facility control.
Farewell Bend, as it was once known, has come a
long way since settlers named the picturesque
departure point in Central Oregon. Many a wagon
train stopped at the meadow site adjacent to the
Deschutes River prior to continuing on over the
Cascade Mountains on their way to
the Willamette Valley. The name was later changed
simply to "Bend" by the U.S. Postmaster who felt the
name too long.
From a simple meadow to a robust urban center,
Bend is still picturesque and near and dear to many
hearts. Bend lies along the western border of Central
Oregon's high desert plateau and is nearly the
geographic center of the State. Bend is also Central
Oregon's most populated city, with a population of
62,900.
The IS2000 is perfect for this project because it can
separate and protect information about different
departments to maintain confidentiality. Offices and
essential services are located throughout the city
and it was critical to have a reliable on-line system
with flexible monitoring and administration features,
including DVR capabilities across the network.
Both the city and the integrator have been pleased
with the installation and the system configuration
support provided by our support staff. They're
especially happy that the IS2000 was able to include
all of the previously installed system hardware as part
of the system expansion and replacement of a prior
system which resolved some troubling issues for the
city as well as providing them all of the features they
required to implement the system the way they had
originally planned.

Secured Areas - Gives you 'keypad control'
of local alarm monitoring areas.
Previously
only available on the separate security alarm panels
linked to the main access control system, the IS2000
now provides direct integrated keypad control, using
PIN or card reader as authorization, that lets
selected users control alarm points within the IS2000.
This is a great improvement over some competitors
standard solutions that do not let you directly control
areas protected by alarm montitoring.

Capacity Control - makes parking garage or
laboratory applications simple. Based on capacity
limits that you control, access to areas can be
limited, with an optional warning as capacity is nearly
